My wife and I go to NYC every year for the weekend before Christmas. This year, we had a short flight on an American Eagle plane from Houston to Dallas, then AA on to NYC. Our flight was fine and we landed in Dallas. As the pilot parked the plane at the gate and turned the seat belt sign off, everyone stood up to get their bags. BAM! The fuel truck hit the plane! THE FUEL TRUCK! Lucky for us, we were in the last row, next to the FA.
As everyone was picking themselves up off the floor and freaking out, I look over to see the person freaking out the most. Yep, the FA! I was under the impression that they were trained to stay calm and help the passengers deal with what was going on. NOT THIS LADY! Thank God I was there to calm her down. As for the fuel truck… how does someone not see… A PLANE? The truck could have exploded or caused a fire or something. IDIOT! Anyway, everyone got off the plane in an orderly maner and the rest of our trip was excellent. But that moment, seriously insane!

Even with training some people freak out, especially under stressful conditions. Maybe it was her first flight as a FA.
That being said, did you find out how the fuel truck driver managed to hit a plane?
Looking out the window, perhaps? 😉
My guess is that the FA was lulled into a false sense of security because the plane had already landed and come to gate…
