Submit A Story

Thanks for the consideration of submitting your story!

Your story must be based on a true flying or airport hell experience. It should be written in an interesting, informative or entertaining manner so that people will enjoy reading it, or sympathize with the misery that you or others went through.

Because delays and cancellations are all too common, stories that are solely about them should involve special or unusual circumstances that make for an interesting read.

We’re not a consumer advocacy website; we’re all about the story. Letters sent to airlines won’t be posted. Please consider contacting a consumer advocacy website if you’re seeking compensation or reparation.

You’re welcome to include an email address (it won’t be published) in case we need to contact you, and to notify you when your story is posted (it’s not a requirement). The submission window below provides anonymity, so there is no way to reach those using it unless an email address is included.

You may also include a name that you’d like to be signed as, as well as a story title (titles are assigned if not provided; submitted titles are subject to change).

Pictures and links to videos are welcome (subject to our discretion) as long as they’re accompanied with a story. Photos can be emailed to story@flightsfromhell.com.

If you have a blog, you’re welcome to include a link to it that will be posted underneath your name (subject to approval of the moderator).

Your anonymity will always be respected. Thanks for sharing!

Write your story or commentary in the anonymous window below, or copy and paste it into the window, or email it to: story@flightsfromhell.com. Please contact us if you have any problems submitting, or have any questions.

Do you also have a Dining Hell story that you’d like to share? Submit it to Dinners From Hell.

Additional Story Submission Information

Submissions should be of a reasonable length. A single paragraph isn’t likely to tell a compelling story. On the other hand, people might not want to take the time to read a very lengthy one.

Do the best you can with grammar, punctuation and clarity. Don’t write the entire story in lower or upper case. Use paragraphs as needed for readability.

You must agree that you’re the original author of the story, and that posting and use of your content (including submitted media) does not violate the copyrights, contract rights, or intellectual property rights of anyone.

It will be assumed that permission is granted to post a name if it’s added as a signature at the end of a story, unless instructions indicate not to do so.

Your story must never have been previously published anywhere.

Material that is explicitly racist, demeaning to an ethnic group, or homophobic won’t be accepted.

It’s advised that you not disclose your personal information; it’s your call whether you do or not. Nothing that would violate the privacy of other parties may be posted.

We reserve the right to select which stories to publish, and to edit (e.g. spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity) as needed (this is done as minimally as possible).

Your submission signifies that you grant FlightsFromHell.com the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and unrestricted right and license to use, modify, display, reproduce, publish, and distribute all submitted content (including stories, pictures and videos) as it chooses.

Stories are generally reviewed and published in the order in which they were received. Click here for information about finding posted stories. You’re welcome to ask us any questions, including about the status of your story: contact@flightsfromhell.com.
