I was on a flight from Tampa to Louisville returning home from a business trip. I always try to get an aisle because I’m a bit claustrophobic. This rather large man was sitting in the window seat when I boarded. We said the usual pleasantries and shortly afterwards, the flight took off. Within 30 minutes, the man was sound asleep with his head against the window, sawing logs like there was no tomorrow.
The flight attendant came through the plane serving beverages. By this time, the man was snoring so loudly, people several rows back were encouraging me to “accidentally” wake him up. When the flight attendant got to our row, the man had shifted in his seat and his head was on my shoulder.
All of a sudden, there was a loud bang. The guy was not only snoring, he was also farting very loudly. These were LADs (loud and deadly).
The flight attendant apologized to me, said there wasn’t much she could do. Thankfully, a few minutes later the flight attendant came back and asked me to go with her. There was a seat open in first class! I escaped Mr. Farts and Snores.
Signed, Randi

You showed restraint and class by not embarrassing this man or yelling at him (as many other people may have done). I'm glad that you were rewarded for being a good person who was temporarily in an uncomfortable situation.
I have never said anything about a fat person on a plane, or train or whatever. I do draw the line when they start leaning on me when they sleep. I think at that point you are justified in waking them up.
Kudos to the FA for upgrading you. People shouldn't eat rotten eggs for breakfast.
Good job. So sorry about the others who had to breathe coach-class air.
Head on shoulder? Never acceptable. That deserves an instant poke in the ribs.
Very interesting passenger story indeed!! I've never experienced such odd type of story so far but it's kinda fun. And you've given a very funny name to that man Mr. Farts and Snores. lol…
