I was flying from Amsterdam to Toronto after an 8 hour stopover in Amsterdam, so I was very tired. Everything was going OK until one mom decided to give her kid a tablet which had some songs on it. For the next four hours this kid was playing “I’m a Gummy Bear” on full blast while some people were trying to sleep peacefully. This song is the most annoying song on the planet (look it up on YouTube).
I was starting to get a headache, so I asked the mom if she could tell her son to turn his music down a bit. She rudely replied, “My son can do whatever the heck he wants.”
Obviously someone had pinged a flight attendant who politely asked the lady to turn down the music, or give the son some earphones. The lady replied, “I think you should mind your own business and leave my son alone; what did he do to you jerk?” The flight attendant had had it…
She called up the pilot who walked down to Economy and told the lady that her son’s music was disturbing the peace of the passengers; the lady rudely responded to him as well.
The pilot threatened to land the plane and call the cops (which we found out later was just something he said to scare her). She finally gave her son some earphones and the ordeal was settled. Everyone clapped and the pilot left.
I’m thankful for the great staff who got this matter over with professionally.

I'd love to believe it. But this sounds like a bullshitty story. The pilot coming out for that? calling the police?! Seriously, no. I'd believe the mother being a rude bitch and that song annoying the shit out of everyone, but the end was too unbelievable. Sorry.
She said the pilot threatened to call the police only to scare the lady. It didn't sound like he was actually going to do it.
Its not that uncommon for a pilot, not in command, obviously- to go back and tell belligerent idiots to stop their antics. The threat of police may have or maybe not been true- but a pilot is certainly allowed to threaten the idiots with apprehension by police at the gate. It happens more often than people think
that song is so fucking annoying
I'm sorry, are the passengers okay?
Haha just kidding!
I feel bad for anyone who's had the displeasure of listening to that song.
And I feel especially bad for the people who some how like it.
She had earphones the entire time?!? What a selfish b*tch!
