Fed Up Ex-Customer

in Odds & Ends Stories

I travel weekly for work and also several times a year (domestic and international), and will never travel AA again if I have a choice – I would rather take multiple connections than AA straight thorough, and as far as international flights – NO WAY!

To date, I have yet to get my miles for my trip to Paris – 5014 miles. I have called, written, emailed and faxed, and nothing. I finally got a supervisor named “J.” who was SO rude and refused to help me that I asked to speak to her supervisor, and also for her name/emp ID to file a complaint. Her response, hang up on me. I call again, get her again, get hung up on again. Complete lack of professionalism. Oh, and still no miles – yet the reason I have not got them changes with each agent I speak with.

Onto the flight itself – outbound to Paris the plane was filthy – I even refused to use the restrooms it was so bad, old trash stuffed in the seat in front of me, no movies, and this is the first international flight I have ever been on that they charged for wine/beer! One inedible meal the entire flight (9 hours) – it was cold, and tasted awful.

Coming home was even worse (which I did not think was possible). Still charging for wine/beer, requested water multiple times yet never got it, the flight was FREEZING – I had on a sweater, wool coat, scarf, gloves and 2 blankets, and still was freezing, as was everyone in my section. The people in the row ahead of me asked if the heat could be turned up, and the flight attendants refused. I heard multiple people after that complain and nothing was done. We actually had 2 meals – WOW! – but one was once again supposed to be hot, but served cold, and the other was just gross – worse airline food I have ever had. I could not wait to get off that flight!

Domestic service is just as bad – expensive snacks, with no healthy options, both my flights were an hour late to get to the final destination, and rude staff.

Just a warning to travelers – their service has just gone down faster than imaginable, and they don’t care about keeping customers. Even if they are the cheapest, I would still pay more to fly anybody but them!

i also stopped flying AA after they changed the upgrade rules. now not only they take 30,000 miles for upgrades, they also want $400 cash for each leg of upgrade from US to Europe..

i can get United upgrade for 25,000miles and no cash.. and if i don't have enough miles, i can always get economy plus seats as gold member..

I agree with you about US carriers. I fly home to Florida from the middle east every few months and I dread arriving in the states for my next flight. The last time I flew through Atlanta, I had to leave the airport and hitchhike home because the service was so terrible and unprofessional. They act like they are doing you a favor by letting you fly. Terrible.

What's with your frequent-flier-mile bitch at the beginning. Do that on your own time. The airlines are rude, what else is new, And to think they are always getting bailed out by taxpayer money. Want some good advice, get gift cards from your credit card company instead of miles. And for Christ Sake stop bitching all the time.

Hey jag, why don't you go shove your opinions up your ass. The point of this site is for people to tell their stories of bad experiences with airlines (which includes bitching). Learn something before trying to be a "e-asshole", you dumbfuck.

I enjoy the comments more than I do the actual boring stories that are related. The purpose of the site is for venting and opinions-which provides some entertainment value. I think you have to take it all with a bit of humor. You should take that stick out of your ass AK and lighten up.Enjoy the goofballs and their opinions. You sound soooooo boring.

Why do people expect the airlines to feed you? When they do, what do you do? Complain! Why not take complete control of this aspect of your travel plans and pack your own meal, with stuff you actually enjoy?

For me, a small wedge of good cheese, some imported Prosciutto, grapes and crackers or bread would be better than any meal I could get on a flight. Spend the $15 to $20 and pack a gourmet snack that you know will be satisfying for you. Combine this with a nice glass of wine or a cold beer and you no longer have anything to gripe about!
