I was going to New York from Fort Meyers, Florida, but I had to stop at West Palm Beach to change planes. However, the plane was delayed so we had to choose to take another plane for $40 more, or wait for the delayed plane to show up. I was too cheap to pay the $40, so I waited for the plane to come.
The plane finally showed up – 12 hours later. I then noticed that I spent more than $100 on food and drinks at the bar. I would have come out ahead financially and time wise if I spent $40 for the other plane!

Yep thats life lesson 101.
I learnt the same thing about Las Vegas.
Its cheaper to go to a bar and order and pay for a drink then it is to get a free one from the casino hostess. The time it takes you to order a drink and receive it .. you have lost a way lot more money in the slots waiting for her to return
unless you tip them,
surprising how not many tip the waitresses for their free drinks in vegas, then complain how long it takes.
we tip the waitress a measly $5 for our first free drinks and $1 per drink after that,
our glasses were never empty
I wager that's a lesson well learned that won't need repeating.
Then again, no one forced you to spend $100 on booze (can't imagine you spent it all on food). Every airport I've ever been in has a book store and a bunch of TVs in strategic locations all over the departures lounge.
The 12 hour delay was a pain. How you spent those 12 hours was up to you.
You noticed? I'll be darned!
You must have been hammered not to "notice" that you had blown 100 bucks.
Sounds like T S to me. That'll teach you.
