delay/cancellation

British Airlines came highly recommended by friends so I bought a ticket round trip from New York to Madrid. All owned by the same corporation, the first leg of the flight was on American, my return will be on Iberia.

My flight TG433 from Jakarta to Bangkok got cancelled. Normal enough. The whole Jakarta to Bangkok flight that normally flies everyday got cancelled for a week, without any email notifications. This was around the end of June 2014.

I’m on the train home at 2:30 am, writing this. I should have been asleep in bed at my parent’s house in Maine. I was booked to take a JetBlue 5:34 flight from JFK – Portland, Maine today. I had called JetBlue earlier about switching to an afternoon flight due to the threat of storms, […]

Thursday, April 24th, 2014. My daughter, who just graduated from college, and my wife were at Logan Airport in Boston for our long planned and awaited trip to Bermuda on JetBlue. The plane was right there in sight at the gate, fueled and ready to go.

I was seven years old when I first flew. My second flight round trip was from Mazatlan to Phoenix on the now defunct America West Airlines. It was also my first plane ride from hell.

Last year we went to Rome for a week for my 30th birthday and brought our then 2-year-old. The flight there was no problem other than our stroller getting lost (but it was a cheap umbrella stroller so I wasn’t too put out). I’d actually flown with him several times before that and had learned […]

Despite being a cold January the 3rd afternoon, the children’s excitement of escaping the cold of Buffalo Niagara in favour of Orlando and Walt Disney World had a buzz in both of the limousines that it took to bring our party of 10 to the airport from the hotel. Thankfully the curbside check-in was open, […]

This isn’t really a flight from hell, just an experience that I would love to share with you guys. Okay, so in July I went from SEA (Seattle) to YOW (Ottawa, Canada) with a stopover in EWR (Newark). The returning flight was the same, but with a stopover in YYZ (Toronto, Canada). The outbound flight was […]

I normally fly SouthWest Air. But they didn’t have a morning flight from PHX to San Antonio. US Airways — US Airways Express — used to be America West Express – really is Mesa Airlines – had an 8:45am flight. Anyway, get to the airport and voila, airplane is 2.5 hours late. Should’ve taken SW […]

When I was in high school, we went on a Caribbean cruise for Christmas. The airline the cruise line made us use was TWA. This was right after the TWA crash over France, so flying that airline scared the life out of me. Nothing happened on the way over other than the plane being really […]
