I got up at 3:30 am Thursday to fly to Montreal from Oklahoma, then rented a car and drove an hour north of there. I was really nervous about the drive as I knew all the signs would be in French. Turns out that was the easiest part of the trip.

My flight TG433 from Jakarta to Bangkok got cancelled. Normal enough. The whole Jakarta to Bangkok flight that normally flies everyday got cancelled for a week, without any email notifications. This was around the end of June 2014.

After a few relaxing days at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay’s sandy beaches, we headed back south to Ho Chi Minh City to catch our home bound night flight via Bangkok. We decided to try to upgrade to business class. At HMC ground staff was of no use and we were told to contact the […]

Last year we went to Rome for a week for my 30th birthday and brought our then 2-year-old. The flight there was no problem other than our stroller getting lost (but it was a cheap umbrella stroller so I wasn’t too put out). I’d actually flown with him several times before that and had learned […]

It is Spring Break 2013, and I am flying from YVR (Vancouver, Canada) to LAX (Los Angeles, California) with my high school band to go to a major music festival. The first problem is that all 100 students arrived at 5:30 am and had lined up waiting to be checked in. I arrived at 6:00 when […]

Here is just a glimpse of the nightmare that we went through which was created by American Eagle Airline. After arriving at Chicago from Miami, we proceeded to our gate to connect to our final destination. While walking to our gate, we noticed that it was raining. It didn’t last long, and actually by the […]

I am an American expat now living with my family in Barcelona. We moved from Seattle to become “global citizens.” Now we’ve begun exploring Spain and Europe by air and it has been both a positive and horrible experience. We had been warned about Ryanair, cheap flights but absolute Nazi’s about rules, and trying to […]

Departed Sydney, Australia for Helsinki, Finland via Singapore on 4/10/12. Plane diverted to Darwin because of smoke in the cabin. Spent 1.5 hours waiting in a departure hall, 1.5 hours standing in a line waiting to be processed through immigration, and about 2.5 hours in a queue waiting to be given accommodation for the evening. […]
