I was flying back to Tampa from Miami and ended up across the aisle from a family (Dad, Mom, 2 kids). I knew we were in trouble when the Mom began moaning in terror before we even took off.
Apparently she was deathly afraid of flying but would not take a tranquilizer and had to get home quickly so she would not or could not drive. She kept exclaiming in a guttural voice “Oh my god we’re going to crash” throughout the flight. Her kids were terrified and Dad was doing his best, but he should have taken charge before they boarded.
If you are that afraid, please, either take a pill or drive, even if it takes longer. I was actually more concerned for her kids than for myself.
