Many years ago, I don’t remember exactly when, but it was certainly before 9/11 as you will see, I was on an Air Canada flight from Calgary to San Francisco. At the time, AC was running a “lucky seat” promotion. They would announce a seat number during the flight and the lucky person in that seat would get to go up to the cockpit where the pilot held an envelope containing a prize. The prize varied from a few FF miles to a free trip around the world!. On my connecting flight, AC from Edmonton to Calgary, they had called the seat next to me, and the person had won 25K FF miles. On my flight to SFO, wouldn’t you know it, but they called my seat!
I was escorted to the flight deck where the pilot handed me an envelope to open. I did, and the prize was a companion fare to Europe on AC! Not the best, but not too bad. A year or so later, I had a business meeting to in Paris, so I took my wife with me on the free ticket. The only bad thing was that the flight from SFO to ORY had two stops, one in Toronto (not bad) and one a YUL. At Montreal, the flight was overwhelmed by French Canadians, all of whom didn’t know the purpose of deodorant. Other than that, it was splendid, and Paris was amazing as usual.

Is this really so much a ‘Flight From Hell’? I don’t think anyone would want to read about a Flight From Heaven. But congrats on the splendid trip. Pardon my rudeness, good sir.
It's certainly not a flight from hell (unless the BO from the French Canadians was particularly bad), but the story does provide an interesting juxtaposition between the state of air travel today versus the way it used to be.
I think your attitude stinks more than any amount of French Canadians
Incredible. How dare French Canadians 'overwhelm' a flight in Montreal!
As far as the body odor is concerned, you flew from SFO to YYZ, then YUL, before departing for ORY. It is likely that YOU were the one suffering from BO, or it was just your breath blowing back in your face.
any plane filled with french canadians would be a flight from hell, only thing left to determine is what level of hell is was
