I am a flight attendant for a major carrier. Last week, while boarding a full flight from JFK to LAS, with each passenger having at least two bags, a man on the aisle, about 6′ 5′, was leaning inward away from a short man trying to stow his bag in the overhead bin. The short man was pushing and leaning against the man sitting in the aisle seat, while trying to get his bag situated. All of a sudden, the man on the aisle seat said loudly, “CAN YOU TELL ME WHY YOU KEEP RUBBING YOUR BALLS ALL OVER MY SHOULDER???!!!” and quietly the little man apologized and said he was sorry and didn’t realize he was doing that. I just said, “all-righty then!” as a man at the window seat said, “That was some funny $#!*!!!!”

funny!
HAH! That's amazing. XD
That's a good one. Funny though, that nobody seems to want to actually HELP people having trouble reaching… I always do, but it's rare.
I'm usually the one needing help.. I'm a total of 5'2" (although my mom argues I can't be 5') and it sucks. So next time, help!!
I have noticed the use of the word 'as' in inappropriate situations often, lately.
You said 'all-righty then!' AS the other guy commented upon the humor of the incident?
Or did you say what you said, followed by the comment of the other guy?
'As' is used to convey the occurrence of simultaneously happenings.
(Of course, my entire argument is nullified if you really did mean that you both spoke simultaneously, but I suspect that this is not the case)
Uh oh… the Grammar Police are here… I'm doomed!
Atari,
Your use of an apostrophe instead of quotes is inappropriate. You should use quotation marks when quoting someone. Also even sentences within parenthesis should have punctuation. So your last sentence should be corrected to add a period at the end. And it should be “simultaneous happenings” not “simultaneously happenings.”
See what happens when you throw stones? No one is perfect, so stop being a jerk.
Jo
P.S. I'm sure there are more errors, I just wanted to make a point. And I'm not perfect either.
I was not being a jerk, but merely asking.
There is a difference between a typo, such as missing a period in one place, or using apostrophes because of a poor habit, and the rampant misuse of the word 'as'.
As you demonstrated, I was not attempting to use perfect SPaG, myself, otherwise you would have found no mistake.
Merely a query.
