Moldy Cheese and Other Ills Spoil Flight

in Odds & Ends Stories

After a 3 hour drive to the Seattle Airport, waiting in a long line, we were greeted by a wonderful host. Being very hesitant, because we had never flown this airline before, I thought these are wonderful people who work here. Boy was I ever disappointed!!!!!

Upon getting to our seats we found they were so small (economy), even though we spent $6000.00 dollars for them!!!! We had ordered special meals which were never delivered. My son was with crutches and was treated very rudely. The food we received was terrible and the cheese was MOLDY!!!!!!! I showed this to the stewardess and she just shrugged her shoulders, without an apology, offer of another meal, or any other compensation. Now remember this is a 10 and 1/2 hour flight!!!! We arrived starving, with cramps everywhere from the small seating, and were very disappointed.

OUR FLIGHT BACK: Arrived 3 hours early at the airport after getting up at 4am and driving 3 hours. I was greeted by a VERY RUDE German woman who would NOT speak to me about our trip. Finally I asked my husband to speak to her. She said we had to pay 400.00 more Euros because our luggage was overweight!!! After a long discussion we moved our things around to other suitcases and she said now you can pay 100.00 Euros!!!!! MY QUESTION IS HOW CAN WE BE CHARGED FOR THIS WHEN WE ONLY MOVED OUR THINGS AROUND TO THE SAME SUITCASES THAT WERE OVERWEIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!! WE WERE STILL CHARGED 100.00 EUROS!!!! WHAT IF WE WOULD HAVE PAID 400.00 EUROS????? This is the biggest scam I’ve ever encountered in my life!!!!!

WE will never fly this airline again and will make it a point to tell as many people as possible………..and I will add that we are a family of 4 that has flown back and forth to Germany every year, sometimes twice a year, for over 40 years!!!!!

The flight back was just as bad. We never received our special order and the food was terrible and old, and the stewardesses rude! Thank God we brought our own food!!!!

You have all the earmarks of the classic "I know nothing about contemporary commercial flying, but I DO knopw that I want EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME MY WAY!!!"

The poster said it was a family of four, so that is $1500/seat. A non-stop Lufthansa flight from Seattle to Frankfurt fits the description, and is roughly $1532.

Wait, what? They paid $6000 TOTAL, for 4 international tickets, and she's complaining about the price?! Good grief.

Lady, you booked economy seats. How much room do you expect? Economy class ALWAYS has small seats! I don't know what happened to your special meals, but I'm willing to bet that the moldy cheese was MEANT to be moldy.

As for your complaint about your baggage fee, I'm not even going to bother trying to explain aircraft weight and balance practices. If you don't get it after flying for 40 years, I can't help you.

If this is Lufthansa that's news to me. Used to fly them often to Frankfurt from Newark, less so these days. Even in economy currently, the food is decent and the attendants act professionally. But if it was a codeshare with United I wouldn't be surprised. United sucks.
