2013

Every year my family and I fly from Cardiff, Wales to Dublin, Ireland with Aer Lingus. The flight is around one hour. The plane they use is an ATT 72-500 series aircraft. It’s a turboprop and it can carry around 80 people in a 2-2 configuration. The last time we flew with them we had […]

I’ve definitely read worse horror flying stories than mine… and mine had some up moments… but, I’ll share anyway.

in Seat Stories

I recently caught a flight from Hobart to Melbourne with my husband and our seven-year-old son (henceforth John and Josh, respectively, for brevity’s sake). This flight is generally just over an hour and there’s hardly any worse weather than a stiff breeze to bump us around – however this time, one miserable little cow managed […]

Here is just a glimpse of the nightmare that we went through which was created by American Eagle Airline. After arriving at Chicago from Miami, we proceeded to our gate to connect to our final destination. While walking to our gate, we noticed that it was raining. It didn’t last long, and actually by the […]

Have spent the last few summers in England /Europe; graduate of Cambridge and found my boyfriend there. No stranger to the trip from San Francisco to London and back. This last trip August, 2013 was different. Always request the aisle seat; got it no problem. Settled in waiting for my seatmates; they arrive – two […]

Just got back from 2 weeks in Hawaii. Here’s just a little hell, given the vacation was paradise. The return Maui (OGG) to San Francisco (SFO) “bus” as I call it left relatively on time. This is an everyday route and you get a wide variety of passengers: partying tourists, islanders off to the mainland, […]

My story occurred while vacationing in the Dominican Republic during the summer of 2008, on our way back from the airport at Santo Domingo to our home and final destination Miami, Florida. I was traveling with my husband, two brothers and my parents. American Airlines never fails to be a disaster in my view!

I bought a round-trip ticket from Chicago to San Jose, California on American Airlines… but because of changes in my friend’s departure, I ended up buying another ticket to go out to San Jose on Southwest, figuring I’d just catch the American flight back (that I paid almost $500 for). Suckah! I called to double-check […]

I just got back from a return flight home after a wonderful holiday on the Mediterranean island of Majorca. A typical holiday destination for us British tourists! This isn’t exactly a flight from hell story but I did experience two rather unusual toilet incidents that I thought I’d submit.

In 2010 my mother and I were flying from Eugene, Oregon to Columbia, South Carolina. We were all forced to wait for two hours for an old United Express CRJ-200 that would take us to San Francisco. After waiting for two hours for “weather delays” we finally were rushed onto the cramped 50 seater. By […]

The wife and I just got back from Orlando via Southwest. I always try to use this airline as their prices and service are great. Anyway, they don’t have a seat purchase program but rather an EarlyBird check-in which gives you an earlier spot in line to board the plane.
