Fetid Flight

in Odor Stories

Once upon a time on a flight from Germany to New York, around 50 people from India decided to visit their relatives. It would have been a nice flight, but I’m sorry to say that the spices they use in their food is not good for the atmosphere. Besides that, a couple had their little baby with them. Sadly the child was sick. That meant the child threw up and had diarrhea. The parents were not able to –  or would not – put the diaper in a trash can. Instead they put it in the aisle of the airplane. You can imagine what a stink there was during the flight.

To round it all off, we had some nice turbulence during landing. Stink and merry-go-round on an 8 hour flight – pure bliss!

I love the Indian people and I can't get enough of their food. But I have to relate this story: When my wife and I were fresh out of school and dirt poor, we purchased a used bed mattress from an Indian couple. Unfortunately the first night we slept on it we were hit with a strong scent of curry. We saved our money and were able to purchase a new mattress about a half year later.

Please take your rant somewhere else. Your post has nothing to do with a flight from hell.

rerere: You are so right! What has a curry stinking matress to do with Flight From Hell? Take that crap to Craigslist. There you can put it under ranting and raving (R&R)

clearly the author of the story was talking about the smell of indian spices and their smell, then this comment also talks about how they smell in his own experience relating to the story and telling him he knows how it feels

I can't understand why people only want to see published all the nice and fake things. Why can't we speak the truth even if it is unpleasant,

Two years ago my husband and I were on a flight from Frankfurt to JFK. An Indian or Pakistani couple and their mother (I assume she was his from her behavior) got on and sat right behind us. The man got up to put their things away in the overhead compartment, taking our bags which were directly over our heads and trying to put them across the aisle. I got up to tell him to put them back and not to touch things that didn't belong to him. As soon as I finished and took a breath, it hit. Body odor so bad I couldn't breathe. I'm not making this up. Other passengers were filing past us wrinkling their noses and complaining about the nasty smell. After he sat down we were treated to an olfactory nightmare for the nine hour flight because not only did they apparently not bathe, they didn't own toothbrushes either and insisted on wafting their sewage scented breath up towards my husband and myself the entire freaking flight.
