In Sep 08 I was flying home to London from Minneapolis in business class with Northwest. I watched the film, then decided to get some sleep after the usual 10 minutes of getting the seat to go flat, fixing the blanket in the correct position with the seatbelt showing, and placing the inadequate pillow in the perfect position.
A couple of hours later I was awoken by a kerfuffle from the galley – someone in economy had had a medical issue and they were fanning them and making sure they were OK. Having been woken I thought it was a good time to stretch my legs. I reached around to the chair control panel and pressed the chair’s upright button; the chair made a noise but it didn’t move. I pressed the flat button and then the upright one then the footrest and a few others, but just a whirring sound and no movement. I then decided to turn over so I could see the panel and check that it was all OK. When I sat up the guy next to me was bolt upright and glaring at me – he had obviously had a bit of a workout in his sleep due to me operating his seat panel instead of mine. I said “sorry” and had a giggle. The joys of business travel.

Funny. I can almost picture the look on the other guy's face when you figured out why your chair wasn't working.
The poor guy! Hope he had a sense of humor and once things calmed down a bit, BOTH of you were able to have a nice laugh about it…
