in Passenger Stories

I was returning to Portland from reserve duty in Guam in January 2004. Another man from my unit went with me and we ended up seated next to each other on the way over and most of the way back. At least we didn’t have to sit next to complete strangers. On the Honolulu to LAX stretch he ended up sitting in the row behind me. I had the window, he was in the center seat one row back. We were trying to converse between the gap in the seats, when a man sat next to me in the middle seat. He looked normal, standard jeans and t-shirt, no strange odors. He deduced from our conversation that we were military and told us he had been in the Marines. The three of us chatted until takeoff and I fell asleep soon after.

Since I was not blessed in the height department, I fit quite well into an airplane seat. In fact I had enough room to turn on my side and face the window. Halfway through the flight I felt an odd sensation on my keister. I discovered that the ex-Marine had his arm on the armrest, but his hand had been placed in a way so that it was right on my rump. I immediately got a creepy feeling and turned to my other side so I was facing him and feigned sleep the rest of the flight.

What's to do? You could have reported him to a FA or maybe spilled hot coffee on him.
