Squeezed By Portly Passengers

All I can say is if you do not fit in your seat and the arm rests can not go down then either refund portions of the fare price to victim or charge the larger passenger for 2 seats. I paid for my seat in whole, not to share and be pushed up against the wall. Also the body heat….sweating like a champ.

The law in Canada is that if someone needs two seats on an airplane, the second one is to be given for free.

The real problem is that airline seats are too damn small in the first place. Someone who can sit on a bus or in a car or in a movie theater (well, sometimes those seats are too small too, depending on where you go) without any problem should be able to fit in an airplane seat.

I don't know any seat made that's smaller than a coach airline seat. In fact, it's time the government got involved and made some rules about this. I know MANY people who sit just fine in restaurants, movie theaters, buses, subway… but a plane? Forget it. We pay $2 for a subway trip, and $200 for a plane – and where's the better seat? It's pathetic.
