A Fondling Fellow

in Passenger Stories

I was on a flight from Denver to London, Heathrow, on my way to Antwerp for my grandfather’s funeral this past October. We had just taken off and I was pretty excited about the open seat next to me, thinking I’d have some extra space to stretch out. However, a young British fellow soon took the seat, as his movie screen (the kind that flips up from under the arm rest) was broken.

He started up a conversation with me which I didn’t mind at all, I like getting to know the people around me, especially on long flights. A few hours into the flight I decided to get some shut-eye. About an hour later was awoken to the feeling of something touching me. He was stroking my leg. Now I know I said I like to get to know the people around me, but that was taking it a bit too far.

When it comes to strangers, I’m painfully timid and polite. I didn’t know what to do! So I kept quiet, biding time for my revenge. Then, as the plane was landing, my motion sickness kicked in.

I threw up on him.

If someone tried that with me, I'd probably grab their finger and break it. No questions asked.

Liar. No self respecting person would let someone touch them innapropiately and just sit there until you can summon up a puke.

He was out of line, but you should have been mature enough to tell him to stop. You were way out of line to vomit on someone. You definitely have issues!

I would have punched him for touching me, but I think puking on him is way better. I hope it was a lot of puke, too. What a loser.

I hope it was extra chunky.

I'm glad you threw up on him. But next time, don't have any qualms about saying, "Get your damn hands off me or you'll lose them."

I feel bad for the other passengers who had to watch and smell you puking!

Next time take Dramamine, it works wonders.

That's not true, Anonymous.

I imagine that I would be silent, as well, being quite shy and hating to be rude to strangers.

I remember this one time, where a guy who was drunk started–

Well, that's another story for another time.

Good for you! I would have liked to see his face after that! Too funny!

Onslow and Anonymous (May 18) have no idea what it is like to be in an enclosed space, yet oddly public like a train or airplane, and wake up to find yourself being touched by another passenger. they have no idea what they would do. And obviously, you could not "summon" a puke, nor would you choose to, in such a situation. I suspect that you felt horribly sick, and the direction of the vomit was not controlled.

I wish you better flights for the future, and do feel free to hit the call button and ask the attendant to move the offender to another seat, if anything like this should happen again!
