I was on a trip from Chicago to Columbia, SC on a Bombardier CRJ-200 (which is a plane that goes four across – two on each side of the aisle and only about 14 rows deep). As I saw my window seat, I noticed that the woman on the aisle was a very obese woman. She also had some walking issues (due to her size, I’m unsure, but it certainly didn’t help). Instead of getting up so that I could squeeze on in, she requested that I CLIMB OVER HER. I’m not a small person myself (though I CAN fit into the seat) and with passengers behind me waiting to be seated, I did as she asked. I sucked in my gut, turned my back to the woman, kicked up my leg and straddled her as I made my way to my seat.

It was a looooooooong 2 hour flight. Luckily, she must have sensed my embarrassment as she was able to stand up (albeit briefly) to let me out as she waited for the stewardess to bring her her wheelchair.

I call bull on this. You can rarely ever get a flight to or from Columbia. If you're lucky enough to fly from Columbia, your flight's to Charlotte or Atlanta and you get on another plane. Same thing going back to Cola.
