flight attendant

This took place not long ago when I had to fly to Singapore for a business meeting. I had taken a night flight to return to Bangkok hoping for some sleep. With luck, as I approached the gate, I could see no small children or babies. Breathing a sigh of relief I sat down and waited […]

I’m a former flight attendant, and I was working a JFK to DFW trip. A woman from a French-speaking country (heard her speaking on her cell phone) enters the plane, and then plunks herself into a first class seat. I thought nothing of it. However about ten minutes later an elderly couple arrive, and it […]

This occurred several years ago on a short flight (about 5 hours) when my little sister was no more than 3 or 4 years old. Not long after take off she began whimpering and crying very loudly, complaining that her ears hurt her. We tried all the tricks: yawning, chewing gum, etc. Nothing was helping. […]

I fly US Airways Munich-Philadelphia about three times a year. My last flight involved a flight attendant who greeted me, my husband and our 18-month old toddler with, “Oh no, a baby? You gotta be kidding me!”

During the “air traffic chaos” in Brazil around 2007-20008, people released their worst instincts and behaviors instead of keeping a cool head to allow things to be sorted out. It was a time that I traveled a lot and every time I came back home I had some story to tell.

As a flight attendant, I have heard some crazy requests. Recently on a transcontinental flight from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, I had a passenger press his call button. After approaching, he demanded that I find the “farter” and make them stop.

This is an everyday route and you get a wide variety of passengers: partying tourists, islanders off to the mainland, […]

I was scheduled to fly US Airways from NAS to BWI with a plane change in PHL. I arrived at the airport and waited, only to have the flight delayed for an hour. After a few grumbles from us sunburned travelers, we waited for another hour – not that bad. As soon as we got […]

I have done a lot of traveling and for the most part haven’t had any major issues, other than delays and missed connections. I have been on a couple of flights that were an absolute nightmare.

Whenever I fly, I pay extra for the exit row since I am 6’5″ tall. I also always book the aisle seat in that row. I try to fly business or first class but that is not always an option. As I was in the gate area I hear an elderly woman on her cell […]

So, I was boarding a flight from a great vacation at Disney in Orlando. After having such a great time nothing could get me down…or so I thought! I was riding premium economy on JetBlue to JFK then BOS. Once we boarded and got settled, there was a strange looking man sitting behind me. The […]
