“Do Not Fly” List Proposed

June 4, 2017

in Flying Hell Commentary

People who fly are just like people who drive cars. About 5% of them cause at least 90% of the problems.

I just can’t figure out why the airlines world-wide have not gotten together and compiled a “DO NOT FLY” list of passengers who have caused problems in the past. The punishment for the first incident should be a 5 year sentence of not being able to fly. The second incident is 10 years of not being able to fly, and the third incident is not being able to fly ever again. It would guarantee a reduction of 90% of the problems we are facing in the airline industry today.

I wouldn't mind seeing something like that. At the end of the day, it is a service and people can be refused a service.

I believe the TSA DOES have a "Do Not Fly" list. Or at least something close. But you have to be careful about that-refusing someone service can be seen as discrimiation if you don't have facts to back it up. I'm not saying some of these people don't deserve to fly after causing issues, but if you're going to bar someone from something you've gotta have an airtight reason for doing it.

Never going to happen. Imagine the money loss to the airlines/government/fuel etc. they would rather fly unruly obnoxious disgusting people then have empty seats. Besides what exactly would constitute a flying ban? I agree in practice but theory will never happen.
