I was on a WN flight, which of course has open seating. I was like A5, and my son A6, so we got window and aisle seats in the exit row. The plane was only 1/3 full, so I was kind of pissed when this big and tall dude decides to plop himself down in the middle seat between me and my son. There were plenty of empty rows, so WTF? I'm pretty sure he was trying to get us to move, so we didn't Expecting a row to yourself is a little uppity, but still, I feel the OP's frustration.
