For the bag to have been run over, the suitcase would have had to have been left behind on the tarmac; planes don't move while they are loading and unloading luggage. As a result, the bag would not have been on the flight with the owner and he couldn't have picked it up at baggage, as the OP alluded to. I'm pretty sure that if the bag didn't make the flight the OP would have noted that. I do have one problem with this story though. Personally I go to TJ's or Marshalls and look for the most garish bag that they have. Why buy a black bag, then wrap a piece of ribbon around the handle and hope that someone else with a black bag didn't choose the same color, when you can be assured no other adult has a Barbie Pink bag.
