Toddler Reluctant To Fly On A Plane

August 25, 2009

in Baby & Kid Stories

We took our son to Florida for the first time when he was barely 3. I explained to him how we were going to be flying “on” a plane, and he took me literally. For days he said he didn’t want to fly “on” a plane. Finally I asked him why, and he said, and this is no lie, “Because we will fall off.” He asked if we could sit inside it instead.

Yes, this is flying hell stories, but this one was great. You should send it in to Parents magazine!

Lighten up Saw. This could easily have been a "hell" story if the kid kept complaining & whining at the gate.

Maybe Jody… but the story didn't even take place on a plane!

I will satisfy myself by pretending that the child grew into an angry 15 yo who tormented his parents daily with overly loud gangsta rap, prison style tattoos, and a bad attitude.

There… I feel better now.

You mean you hope he turned into YOU, don't you saw?

Me? Nooooo… I'm not like that at all… I was a model child (it's true). And I have no tats, and hate gangsta rap.

My attitude's not bad – it's jaded though – and my wife says I can be a painintheass… but otherwise, I'm the picture of normalcy 😉

Really guys, saw is right.

This story has nothing to do with planes or flights. Although I do think it is a cute story… it's just not what the site is here for. If the kid had been screaming on a plane or had even made the joke on a plane, it would be alright. But this might as well be "soriesremotelyrelatedtoflying.com" if these types of stories were average.

Well, it COULD have been a flight from hell if the parents had actually put the kid ON the plane. For the kid anyway…..

Uh .. I am calling shenanigans on this one. This ais n old Geroge Carlin joke. The PA person says something akin to time to get on the plane .. Carlin says "F-bomb you! I am getting IN the plane!!

Maybe the toddler was highly advanced for his years, had recently viewed the George Carlin routine on his in-crib DVD, and was repeating it – adding his own unique personality to the interpretation?

Was the above a run-on sentence, or did my punctuation save it?
