I don't think ANYONE likes the idea "of allowing our entire country to be controlled by suicide bombers," and that is why we now have the security procedures that we do.

I'd rather have to buy my toiletries at my destination than not arrive at my destination because some terrorist concealed an explosive in a tube of toothpaste and blew up my plane mid-air!

Julie, things change. Try to adapt.

Sure Julie... I fly every month of the year. Let's let that jelly through, and in a month, It'll be a terrorist with a jar of "jelly" that blows a plane up. Sure, let's not charge for baggage. Although charging for water (kudos to USAir for realizing that was positively stupid) isn't a good idea, those baggage charges are helping to keep airlines in business. Sorry your luggage got lost, mine does all the time. Point - quit whining and take the train. Flying IS a hassle, but right now, it's as good as it's gonna get. Maybe as the world gets better, things will become more relaxed.

It's hardly fair to blame the airlines for security regulations. They're not the ones imposing the regulations, nor are they the ones enforcing them. You don't like it, complain to the TSA and your elected officials.
