A Loooong Flight Home

in Passenger Stories

It was on an international flight going from Amsterdam to Minneapolis. I was tired and dirty, having back-packed solo across Europe for two weeks, and I was ready to be going home. Not long after take-off I quickly nodded off in my seat, thankful for the opportunity to finally relax in a safe place, when suddenly I heard singing. It started softly but soon enough became very, very loud… I was sitting next to an entire CHOIR. There must have been 20-25 teenagers sitting all around me who were returning from a choir trip, and decided it was a good idea to stand up and sing songs for the passengers. Needless to say, it was a loooong flight home.

Why didn't you just tell them they were all going to hell anyway, to burn in a special level of Hell reserved for those who deprive another of much needed rest.

One question, does your story indicate that you did not shower for 2 weeks? Europe has a pretty advanced hostel system……

Perhaps the singing was a way to distract them from the effervescence you brought to the cabin.

Cheers.

I remember a bus trip where some folks in my school were in a production of "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" and they decided they had to sing all the songs they were performing…the whole way there.

Worst. 24 hours. Ever.
