A Seat And A Toilet Is All You Need

in Flying Hell Commentary

I want to say a few words to the people who fly. An airplane is a BUS that takes people and their luggage, from point A to point B. That’s all ! I’m tired of flying with people that think an airplane is some kind of resort, just for them. If you drive your car across country, can you go for 5-6 hours without eating? Of course you can. Stop expecting the airline to feed you every 3 hours. They gave you a seat and a toilet. Thats all you need. If you need to eat, do it before you get on the plane. Get to the airport EARLY! If you’re going 3,000 miles across country in 6 hours, what’s a couple of hours more? Allow time for a wreck on the freeway or a flat tire, and if you run out of gas, go home, you’re too stupid to find the airport anyway! I’m tired of sitting on the plane waiting for some jerk that can’t get to the airport on time! People, stop trying to stuff a steamer trunk into an overhead bin. Follow the rules and everything will go much smoother for everyone. Now pay attention, FUEL has gone UP!! It is going to cost you a lot more to drive and it is going to cost you a lot more to fly. Don’t take it out on the airlines, tell it to your senator. Plan ahead, pack smart, get to the airport early, get on the plane, sit down and shut-up. Maybe we can all get there on time!

I loved your post. I've spent countless hours waiting for the prima donna flyer to waddle onto the plane. And if you want luxury, pay for first class.

I agree – shut up and fly!!!

Bravo – Well said! Most of the complainers are leisure travelors, who indeed expect 5 star Service for a 1 Star price.

I agree. I managed to overcome my fear of flying (total, unremitting fear) to fly to my daughter's wedding several years ago. I now fly 2-3 times a year to visit her. I look at it as a wonderfully quick way to get where I'm going. It's a 3 day drive to get to her house otherwise!

My only complaint is having to sit next to an obese person who takes up part of my seat. Something needs to be done about this. I have no problem with their obesity but I DO have a problem when they take up half of my seat that I PAID for!
