There are other places to get drunk, such as bars, pubs, clubs, discos, even your own home. A plane certainly doesnt belong to them ( also no other public transport systems).

I agree. But then, I think that the people who laugh out loud at the sitcoms they show on flights should be castrated with dull fishing knives. For being morons if nothing else.

You get drunk in a bar, at a party, with an ex-girlfriend prior to making another "mistake," or at a conference for work. Not on an airplane. Mind you, I have been drunk on a plane plenty of times, but only those flying with me knew it. Being loud and obnoxious is perfectly fine in all sorts of situations, just not on a plane, it's that simple.

It all depends on how annoying these guys were really being. Were they being friendly? Or obnoxious? If other passengers were having fun with these guys, then the OP may have just been a little up-tight. Again though, you should cater your attitude on a flight to the lowest common denominator. If being loud, even in a friendly fun manner, annoys someone, then lower your volume. You're not being a "fun guy" if you're annoying someone.

It was one of the spring break "go on vacation, leave on probation" trips. Hey, no one got hurt and outside of loud talking, no other issues. I've sat near cold sober business wanna-bes that are 20 times more annoying (and louder) than the party brigade you're talking about.

TravMD, when you are spiking a person's drink without their knowledge, you are committing a felony. Doctors who are convicted of felonies have a hard time (ie impossible) getting work as a doctor, as no board will allow them to be certified to practice medicine.

If you kill the poor drunk with your disulfram donation, then obviously you won't be prescribing anyone anything for a long time, in fact about as long as "Butch" makes you his bitch.

Your post is the funniest bit of medical bullshit I have read in a long time, are you a nurse???

V Ross, I think you are 100% right in being irritated by these clowns. If it had been me, and the dudes were that sloshed, I'd have stuck my foot out in the aisle when one of them went galloping down to visit their buddies. LOL.

Sounds terribly irresponsable of the airline staff. At a great altitude the effects of alcohol are exarcebated, so a smaller quantity has a greater effect. I've been reading stories of people clearly inebriated being allwoed on board - how is that even legal? It's obvious that if there is any sort of emergency the drunk people are at a disadvantage. So are those who take sleeping drugs, sure, but at least those won't be putting other passengers into more risk. Gods, what idiots.

Wow.

If you want to party, go to a friend's place or go to a bar.

If you want to see guys get plastered, see above.

Passengers shouldn't have to put up with it. One or two drinks with a meal is not the same as being plied with alcohol. Nor is it appropriate for FAs to get someone drunk, especially if they're under age.

Hey, I don't care what kids do if they do it themselves. Steal from Daddy's liquor cabinet and party on, if that's what you want to do. But the airline shouldn't be assisting you - it's illegal. Not to mention the fact... if they ran over a 3yo child while drunk, will the FAs still smirk and be rude about it?
